How much does it cost to rent an event venue in Hutchinson?

Most venue websites make you call for a quote. We would rather you know the number before you pick up the phone. This guide walks through what drives venue pricing in Reno County, what is normally included, and exactly what a day at SandHills Event Center costs.

What makes one venue cost more than another

Four things move the price more than anything else:

  • The day of the week. Saturdays are the busiest day for weddings and parties, so nearly every venue charges more for them. Sunday through Friday dates are usually the best value.
  • What is included. A low base rate can climb fast if tables, chairs, a kitchen, or parking cost extra. Ask for the all-in number.
  • Vendor rules. Venues that require you to use their caterer or bar often make their money on the food and drink, not the room. That can double the real cost of the event.
  • Hours. Some venues rent by the hour or charge extra for setup and cleanup time. A full-day rate is easier to plan around.

Kansas sales tax of 8.25 percent is added at checkout. Optional add-ons

  • Audio/visual package, $149. Sound system, wireless microphones, and the drop-down screen. Worth it for toasts, slideshows, and presentations.
  • Dance floor, $395. A 20′ × 20′ portable floor, set up before you arrive.
  • Table and chair set-up and tear-down, $249. We arrange the room to your plan and put everything away afterward. Skip it and set up yourself, and you pay nothing extra.

The deposit and when the balance is due

A $150 security deposit holds your date the moment you book online. It is refundable: once your event is over and the venue is left as you found it, the $150 comes back to you. The rental balance is due 14 days before your event, and we send a payment link so you can pay by card.

A worked example

Say you are planning a 150-guest wedding reception on a Saturday in June, and you want the dance floor and the A/V package for toasts.

Saturday rental$999
Dance floor$395
Audio/visual package$149
Kansas sales tax (8.25%)$127.30
Total venue cost$1,670.30

That works out to about $11 per guest for the room, the tables and chairs, the kitchen, the floor, and the sound. Because there are no required vendors, your catering and bar budget is yours to set.
